TML_SKI #1SKI Magazine announced that a new mountain has been crowned “the #1 Overall Resort in North America” by the readers of SKI: Jackson Hole Mountain Resort!

SKI’s survey of readers to determine the best resorts in North America has been a snow-sports institution for 26 years. Readers rank resorts in 20 different categories that include anything from snow and lifts, to dining and service.

In 2014, Jackson Hole will proudly be donning the distinction of the “#1 Overall Resort in North America By SKI Magazine Readers!”

“This award truly reflects the combined efforts of our ownership, the dedicated JHMR staff, and the Jackson Hole community,” stated JHMR President, Jerry Blann.

En route to the top spot in the survey, JHMR earned top 10 rankings in a wide range of areas, from Challenge and Character (both #1’s) to Lodging (#3) and Service (#7). Thanks to recent improvements such as the “All New All Blue” initiatives, Jackson Hole ranked #19 in grooming this year.

Here are 4 reasons why we, Jackson locals, agree whole-heartedly with the readers of SKI Magazine:
TML_SKI-1-Announcement-Image21. The new, top-notch grooming capabilities of the JHMR team compliment what’s always been know as challenging terrain. Now, families and intermediate can arch turns together on pristine corduroy and explore world-class “blue square” terrain that complements the most challenging advanced skiing in North America that’s ubiquitous at Jackson Hole. (Greg Ditrinco, Editor of SKI Magazine says: “Jackson Hole has done as good of a job as any resort in recent memory of expanding its appeal to a wider audience, now offering a remarkable experience to skiers of all talents and tastes.”)
TML_Spur2. On most winter afternoons, the most stressful part of the day is determining where to après. We take that stress away by recommending Il Villagio Osteria or Spur. (You know it’s a good day when you’re stressed about après!)
TML_Corbets3. The best waffle you’re ever going to taste is found in the rustic confines of Corbet’s Cabin at the top of the tram! And, after warming up and treating yourself, the world-renowned Corbet’s Couloir sits just below the cabin. Dropping in Corbet’s and successfully navigating the iconic couloir is a bucket-list experience for all serious skiers and an unforgettable line to slay.
4. It’s only going to get better in Jackson Hole! The future’s bright in the Tetons… “The Kemmerer Family and JHMR’s Board of Directors have been dedicated to improving the infrastructure of the resort and with their focused leadership; over $135 Million in on-mountain improvements have been invested. That, combined with the hard work of JH AIR, the JH Travel & Tourism Board, Wyoming Tourism and the passionate local community, has transformed Jackson Hole into a premier winter destination,” said JHMR President, Jerry Blann. “This is an exciting time for JHMR and all of Jackson Hole. Our plan is to continue on the path that has led to this #1 award – staying true to our independent spirit, our western hospitality and a truly authentic offering in the ski industry.”
