Experience Hotel Terra – 3 Days in Jackson Hole
A winter vacation to Jackson Hole is a skier’s dream. Voted the #1 Overall Resort in North America by readers of SKI Magazine, Jackson Hole offers the complete package of varied terrain, accessibility and character. But even though Jackson Hole is famous for skiing, we think there are some pretty awe-inspiring adventures off the slopes too. We have some ideas for how you can make this winter vacation in Jackson Hole truly exceptional.
If you are a pretty seasoned skier, kick off your first day from the top of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s (JHMR) aerial tram. Climbing 4,105 vertical feet from the base of Teton Village to the top of JHMR, the tram offers the most continuous vertical rise in the Western Hemisphere and spectacular views. Before you hit the slopes, grab breakfast at Corbet’s Cabin, located at the top of the tram. Their waffles are like none you have ever tasted before, though you probably have never had a waffle at 10,450 feet. Then enjoy a morning of skiing cowboy powder.
Give your legs a rest by stopping for lunch at Casper restaurant. Warm up by the cozy fireplace, or if the sun is shining, enjoy your meal on the patio. When finished, hop on the “all-new, all-blue” Casper lift.
After a long day of skiing you’ll be thirsty. Ski down to Spur Restaurant & Bar for great drinks and après ski fare. The 307 fries are a local favorite. When you return to Hotel Terra, relax and soothe those tired muscles in the heated infinity pool overlooking the village commons.
You won’t have to go far for dinner. Il Villagio Osteria is located just off the lobby of Hotel Terra and offers some of the best Italian cuisine in town.
Start with a quick breakfast our Terra Café, voted best burrito and vegetarian options in Jackson by locals. Grab a powderhound burrito and then get picked up for a full-day snowmobile trip to Granite Hot Springs.
Snowmobiling is a fun and exhilarating way to view the gorgeous mountain scenery and wildlife. Your stop for lunch will be at the hot springs. Sink into the natural hot springs and relax while taking in views of the Hoback Canyon.
No ski trip to Jackson would be complete without visiting the famous Mangy Moose. Since 1967, the Mangy Moose has been a favorite for après and live entertainment.
After a full dose of ski town pares, enjoy some of the shops around Teton Village. Not only are there plenty of options for ski gear, there are also beautiful boutique shops and places to purchase high-end apparel. MADE , located in Hotel Terra, offers handmade, refurbished, and recycled items. After a little shopping dine at Teton Thai. This family-run, local’s favorite in Teton Village features delicious Thai cuisine.
Start your day early with a wildlife safari. Your knowledgeable guides will give you a tour of the pristine valley and along the way you can see moose, elk, bighorn sheep and more. Winter is a great time to view wildlife. You’ll return at noon, just in time to get a few final ski runs in. First, stop for lunch at the Rendezvous Café, atop the Gondola then make the last few laps of your stay.
At Hotel Terra, we want to make sure you return home rested and relaxed. The elegant, intimate Chill Spa, floats six floors up, on the top of Hotel Terra. Rejuvenate in the eucalyptus-infused steam rooms, relax in the roof-top hot tub and then unwind with one of our massages or seasonal facials. The Warm Cocoa Berry Pore Refining Facial is our favorite this winter.
For the last night of your stay, head into the town of Jackson Hole and dine at Trio. Their waffle fries are to-die-for. Conveniently located near the town square, take a stroll after dinner to see the famous elk antler arches. They’re most beautiful at night when the square is lit up with thousands of twinkle lights.
As you can see there is so much to do during your stay at Hotel Terra in the winter. We hope you will make the most of your Hotel Terra Experience.
